Kareem Smith made quite an impression in his first game with the Tigers when he started at right defense and help BEHS hold Ft. Lauderdale scoreless in a game that resulted in a 0-0 tie.
He started playing soccer at age 7 while growing up in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He also excels in cricket, where he played cover as a fielder.
His first youth team was with the Royale Place Strikers under-18 where he played striker for the squad as a 15-year-old.
He moved to the US during the summer of '08, where he later enrolled at BEHS. He proved to be one of the team's most versatile player, having played every field position, except left MF and DF.
Most memorable soccer moment at BEHS:
"When went to New Port Richey (during the winter break) and came in 3rd place. Just seeing the team come together as one unit was a thrill for me. Although we didn't meet the coach's expectations of making the playoffs, I think that this 3rd place meant something to the players and the coaching staff."
